Itinerary

Day 1  Seville
Fly to Seville, the regional capital and home to historic architecture, buzzing plazas and lively flamenco clubs. Amble the pretty orange tree-lined streets to Plaza de España, the most famous square in Seville, and marvel at the multicoloured Andalucían benches, representing the Spanish provinces. Take a stroll through the verdant Maria Luisa Park, an oasis of peace in the city, filled with trees, colourful flowers and fountains.

Day 2  Seville
Today, navigate the labyrinth of cobblestone streets in the Santa Cruz district as you make your way to the beautiful Alcázar de Seville. Enjoy your guided tour of this magnificent Moorish palace complex which is still in use today. Later, perhaps visit the UNESCO World Heritage listed cathedral and its bell tower, La Giralda to admire its ornate architecture and grandeur.

Day 3  Seville
This morning, head to the old quarter to see the Setas de Sevilla, the largest wooden construction in the world, and walk the wooden pathway on top of the parasols whilst admiring remarkable views of the city. On your final evening cross the Guadalquivir River to the Tirana district to enjoy a spectacular flamenco show in an authentic tablao (a traditional venue for live flamenco performances) and indulge in a tasty tapas meal.

Day 4  Seville to Córdoba
Board the train for a short journey to the medieval city of Córdoba. Wander the winding streets of the old town, appreciating the patios adorned with colourful flowers and historic monuments. Spend the afternoon admiring the extraordinary blend of architectural styles of the UNESCO World Heritage 11th Century Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba. Climb the bell tower for panoramic views of the city and wander outside its awe-inspiring walls to discover quaint hidden plazas.

Day 5  Córdoba
Today, take a short walk to the Alcázar Fortress of the Christian Monarchs, a former royal residence and explore the magnificent gardens. Later, cross the Guadalquivir River over the stunning Roman bridge, originally constructed in the 1st Century, to visit the living museum at Calahorra Tower.

Day 6  Córdoba to Granada
Take the train to Granada, a beautiful city at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountains.  Get your bearings by meandering the narrow cobbled streets of the Albaicin district, admiring the Carmen houses en route, and passing the whitewashed buildings and hidden squares in the Jewish Quarter. This evening, go to Triunfo Gardens to see the fountains lit with multicoloured lights.

Day 7  Granada
Today, discover the beauty of La Alhambra, the spectacular Moorish palace and fortress decked with stunning frescoes, decorated columns and arches and courtyards dotted with fountains.  With your tour, explore the beautiful hillside gardens of the Generalife Palace just next door with breathtaking views of the Rivers Darro and Genil. Later, perhaps visit the cathedral and Royal Chapel to marvel at the elegant mix of Gothic and Renaissance styles. After a day of exploring the historic sites, indulge in some tapas at one of the local restaurants.

Day 8  Fly home
