Day 1  Stockholm
Fly to Sweden’s elegant capital and transfer to your hotel, your base from which to explore this exciting city. Start your city break with a stroll along one of the beautiful waterways that run through Stockholm’s 14 islands.

Day 2  Stockholm
This morning, hire a bike to explore this characterful city. Set off on two wheels to cover a number of the central islands exploring historic Gamla Stan Old Town as well as some leafy suburbs. Later, sample the best of Stockholm’s contemporary cuisine on a walking tour, from modern to traditional and sweet to savoury. This evening, perhaps stop off at the beautiful Stortorget Square to wander the Gothic architecture lined streets and myriad of coffee shops, restaurants and chic cocktail bars.

Day 3  Stockholm
Today, visit the spectacular private residence of the Swedish royal family at Drottningholm Palace. One of Stockholm’s three UNESCO World Heritage Sites, this wonderfully preserved building dates back to the 17th Century and is set amongst exquisite gardens. Relax in the grounds before heading east of the city to learn about Sweden’s fascinating maritime history at the Vasa Museum, take a tour around the Skansen Open Air Museum or, for music fans, visit the ABBA Museum.

Day 4  Fly home
