Itinerary
Fly to Zurich. Using your Swiss Travel Pass, travel to your hotel before heading out to explore Switzerland’s largest city. Brimming with arts and culture, discover some of the 1,000 public artworks or visit one of the many galleries and museums. For a magical start to the holiday, why not take a train ride to the top of Uetliberg Mountain to dine in the Uto Kulm glass restaurant with a panoramic backdrop of the city’s twinkling lights below.
Day 2 Zurich
Learn more about the sights and history of Zurich’s old town on your included walking tour. Make the most of your Swiss Travel Pass and travel across Lake Zurich by boat to Kilchberg, for your Lindt Home of Chocolate Museum tour, complete with a multi-story chocolate fountain.
Day 3 Zurich
This morning perhaps catch the train north to Schloss Laufen to visit Rhine Falls, Europe’s largest waterfall. In the afternoon, return to Zurich and use your Swiss Travel Pass for free entry to a host of galleries or museums including the FIFA Museum and the Swiss National Museum.
Day 4 Zurich to Lucerne
After a short scenic journey past lakes and rugged mountaintops, arrive into Lucerne. Head to the waterfront and discover the city’s most famous landmark, the wooden Chapel Bridge. Originally built as part of the city fortifications in 1332, its later 17th Century panels chart Switzerland’s fascinating history. A short walk away in a peaceful garden is the renowned Lion of Lucerne sculpture.
Day 5 Lucerne
Today use your pass to discover Lake Lucerne and its surroundings by boat. The Grand Lake tour stops off at various points to explore the walks and natural beauty of the region.
Day 6 Lucerne
No Swiss trip is complete without a visit to the mountains. Why not travel by train, using your Swiss Travel Pass, to Kriens and take a panoramic gondola with fantastic views to the top of Mount Pilatus? Once at the summit, you could try Switzerland’s longest toboggan run or enjoy one of the numerous hiking trails. Return through the alpine meadows and striking rock formations on the world’s steepest cogwheel railway to Alpnachstad, before boarding a lake cruise back to Lucerne.
Day 7 Fly home
Catch the train back to Zurich for your flight home.
