Switzerland's Mountains, Lakes & Winter Magic

Day 1  Zurich to Zermatt          
Arrive into Zurich and take the train to the traditional Swiss resort town of Zermatt, below the commanding Matterhorn Mountain.          

Day 2  Zermatt          
Spend the day exploring the magical winter wonderland of Zermatt. Offering a range of outdoor activities, try out hiking and snowshoeing, sledding or perhaps a husky sleigh ride against the spectacular mountainous backdrop! Don’t miss the Matterhorn Glacier Ride to be transported by cable car to the summit of Klein Matterhorn. End your day in Zermatt’s charming old town, brimming with cosy cafés and delightful boutiques.          

Day 3  Zermatt          
Today embark on a delicious adventure to the summit of Gornergrat on board the Matterhorn Railway. Three stops en route allow for cocktails and appetizers, followed by a three course meal and finally a selection of tasty desserts, all while admiring the stunning, snow covered mountains. You can also enjoy exciting outdoor activities at each stop including sledding and snowshoeing.          

Day 4  Glacier Express  
Journey to St. Moritz through snow covered Swiss mountain scenery on board the iconic Glacier Express, famed as the world’s Slowest Express Train. Enjoy a relaxing 7 ½ hour journey from the deluxe comfort of your Excellence Class window seat and indulge in an exquisite 5 course meal accompanied by a selection of fine wine.        

Day 5  St. Moritz          
Having proudly hosted two Winter Olympics, the glamorous resort town of St. Moritz is well known for its winter sports offering. Today, why not try your hand at ice skating on the town’s natural ice rink, or perhaps explore a hiking trail in the winter sun. With an excellent choice of restaurants and bars to choose from, treat yourself to a fabulous meal to unwind after the day’s activities.            

Day 6  St. Moritz    
A stay in St. Moritz wouldn’t be complete without a cable car ride to the summit of Piz Nair, boasting expansive views of the valleys below. Later, perhaps head to one of St. Moritz’ famed spas for an indulgent afternoon of pampering.      

Day 7  St. Moritz to Zurich          
This morning travel by train to Zurich, the final stop on your winter adventure. Explore the old town on foot, browse the designer boutiques of Bahnhofstrasse or perhaps take a walk along the lakeside promenade. Home of the Lindt chocolate factory, fill your suitcase with sweet souvenirs before heading to any of the city’s many fantastic eateries.

Day 8  Zurich          
Enjoy a final winters morning in Zurich before your onward flight.
