Itinerary
On arrival in Paro you will be met by your Six Senses guide. Drive to the amazing 5★ Six Senses Thimphu.
Day 2 Thimphu
Enjoy a full day of touring around the valley. Visit local cultural sites, artisan shops and Thimpu’s impressive fortress.
Day 3 Thimphu to Punakha
Today, travel along the famous Dochula Pass to reach Punakha and check in at the 5★ Six Senses Punakha. Truly unwind this afternoon in the spa with a complimentary massage.
Day 4 Punakha
Opt to spend your morning at leisure or visit a local monastery, joining novice monks for breakfast. In the afternoon cross Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge and visit the iconic Punakha Dzong.
Day 5 Punakha
Enjoy a riverside stroll or cycle to reach Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautiful temple perched on a hill with incredible views of the valley. After lunch, visit a fertility temple to learn about the celebrated monk who inspired the phallus paintings of nearby village Lobesa.
Day 6 Punakha to Gangtey
Travel to Gangtey via the scenic Lawa La Pass and check in at the 5★ Six Senses Gangtey. Spend the afternoon at leisure or choose to explore the stunning valley on foot or by bicycle.
Day 7 Gangtey
This morning, walk the famous Loma Longtey trail and enjoy a picnic lunch along the panoramic Kayche La Pass. In the afternoon visit quaint Gangtey with its golden topped monastery and later choose to visit a nearby temple for a blessing and candlelit dinner.
Day 8 Gangtey to Paro
Begin your journey back to Paro and stop en route at the three stupas at Chuzon Bridge, known for their diverse architecture. Visit the impressive Rinpung Dzong as you approach Paro and take in the stunning views of the valley as you check in at the 5★ Six Senses Paro.
Day 9 Paro
Today, trek up to Bhutan’s most iconic building - the sacred Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery. The moderate trek there and back takes approximately 3-5 hours. After lunch, drive to the 7th Century twin temples of Kyichu Lhakhang, some of the first temples built in the country. Light a butter lamp here and learn about the ancient Buddhist traditions that are still practised today.
Day 10 Paro
Opt to start your morning with a wellness activity at the spa and spend today exploring Paro by foot. Visit sites such as the fortress of Zurig Dzong and the charming main street, lined with handicraft shops. Later, enjoy your final dinner in Bhutan and choose to take part in local experiences.
Day 11 Paro
Transfer to the airport and bid farewell to your guide.
