Itinerary
Drive to 3★+ Mela Kothi - Chambal Safari Lodge on the outskirts of the National Chambal Sanctuary. This scenic but little known region, encompassing a 300 mile stretch of the Chambal River, was set up with the aim of safeguarding the diminishing populations of critically endangered gharials (a species of crocodile) and the Gangetic river dolphin.
Day 2 National Chambal Sanctuary
Explore the waterways on a river safari to spot some of the 300 species of birds which call this river home. Then head out on a game drive through the countryside, passing remote hamlets, to the habitat of the Blackbuck deer. Alternatively visit the breeding grounds of the towering Sarus crane, the world’s tallest flying bird!
Day 3 Chambal to Agra
Transfer back to Agra by road.
