India's Golden Triangle & the Maldives

Day 1  Delhi, India      
Arrive into the buzzing city of Delhi and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to explore or unwind, ready for the next day.

Day 2  Delhi      
Today, discover the sights of India’s dynamic capital with a half day tour. Soak up the highlights of the city’s incredible Mughal architecture as well as the atmosphere of the bustling bazaars of Old Delhi. The rest of the day can be enjoyed at your own pace.

Day 3  Delhi to Agra      
Journey south by road to Agra where you will visit the magnificent Taj Mahal. Dating back to 1648, today this is one of the world’s most recognised landmarks. Marvel at the shimmering white marble-clad domes before continuing to the impressive Agra Fort nearby. Located on the banks of the Yamuna River, this massive red sandstone fortress was once the main residence of the Mughal emperors.

Day 4  Agra to Jaipur      
This morning, rise early to visit the Taj Mahal once again. This early start is well worth it as sunrise visits tend to attract fewer crowds and the early morning mist can add to the magic. Afterwards, drive on to Jaipur, stopping en route at Fatehpur Sikri, a deserted palace complex boasting some of India’s finest Mughal architecture.

Day 5  Jaipur      
Start your day with a drive up to the stunning Amber Fort, occupying a commanding hilltop setting just outside the city. Amber was the ancient capital of Jaipur state and offers a beautiful example of Rajput architecture. After exploring the fort, head back into the town centre for a stop outside the Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) and visit the City Palace and Museum. Continue to Jantar Mantar, a Royal Observatory built in 1728 to study the stars and planets before finishing the day with a walk through the streets and markets of Jaipur, gaining an insight into local life.

Day 6  Jaipur to Delhi      
Return to Delhi where the day is free for you to relax or to enjoy the city’s shops, bars and restaurants.

Day 7  Delhi to Maldives      
After an action-packed week seeing the highlights of India’s Golden Triangle, there’s no better way to continue than with a week lapping up the glorious tranquillity and beachside bliss of the Maldives. Take a flight to Malé and continue to your resort via a speedboat or seaplane. If arriving by seaplane, you will witness breathtaking aerial views as you fly over reefs, lagoons and aquamarine atolls.

Days 8-11  Maldives      
Soak up the unbelievable views every day as your eyes are met with pristine powder white sand beaches and calm turquoise lagoons. The Maldives is renowned for its rich underwater world; so why not snorkel the incredible crystal clear waters, discovering impressive coral walls, brightly coloured tropical fish and remarkable marine life, from dolphins to whale sharks, and manta rays to turtles. Alternatively, bask in the sun with a good book or a refreshing cocktail in hand, make use of the resort activities and facilities and enjoy swimming in the glistening lagoons.

Day 12  Maldives      
It is time for this wonderful holiday to come to an end. Transfer back to the airport for your onward travels.
