Nepal & India - Himalayan Highlights

Days 1-2  Kathmandu, Nepal              
On arrival in Kathmandu transfer to your hotel. Spend the next two days exploring the world renowned treasures of the Kathmandu Valley including the city’s ancient Durbar Square and Swayambhunath Stupa.              

Day 3  Kathmandu to Pokhara              
Today drive to the beautiful lakeside town of Pokhara set at the foot of the Annapurna mountain range.  

Day 4  Pokhara            
Spend the day sightseeing in Pokhara with your guide. Stops include the beautiful 17th Century Bindhya Basini Temple, the Gurkha Memorial Museum, the World Peace Pagoda and a Tibetan refugee camp. Finish the tour with a magical boat ride on the peaceful waters of Lake Phewa.              

Day 5  Pokhara            
Today is free for you to further explore this lovely lakeside town or why not indulge in a spot of retail therapy?      

Day 6  Pokhara to Chitwan NP  
Drive to Chitwan, Nepal’s oldest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This reserve is renowned for its abundant wildlife.      

Day 7  Chitwan NP  
Look out for exotic wildlife as you explore the area on a full day of activities from your lodge. Options include jeep safaris and nature walks.

Day 8  Chitwan NP to Kathmandu  
After a final early morning activity begin the long drive back to Kathmandu.  

Days 9  Kathmandu to Delhi, India            
Transfer to the airport for your onward flight to Delhi. This evening why not include a wonderful haveli (mansion) dining experience in Old Delhi? The following day discover Delhi on a half day tour and uncover the highlights of this fascinating city.  

Day 10  Delhi to Shimla      
Take an early train from Delhi to Chandigarh followed by a picturesque drive up to Solan. Board the ‘toy’ train, on the narrow gauge mountain railway that will carry you up to Shimla. On arrival check into the splendid 5★ Oberoi Cecil.    

Day 11  Shimla            
Today’s half day walking tour provides a fascinating insight into Shimla’s rich colonial heritage as the former summer capital of the British Raj.        

Day 12-13  Chharaba, near Shimla              
Drive into the mountains to the magnificent 5★+ Wildflower Hall, An Oberoi Resort. Spend a relaxing two days enjoying the superb leisure facilities and fine dining as well as the sweeping views of the Himalayas.          

Days  14  Shimla to Delhi            
Drive to Kalka and transfer back to Delhi by train for your final night in India.      

Day 15  Delhi            
Transfer to the airport.
