A Tale of Two Cities

Day 1 Colombo                                                  
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.                                          

Day 2 Colombo                    
Start today with a morning tour of the city by tuk-tuk. Visit colourful Pettah market before exploring some of the city's historic sites and finishing your tour at the iconic Galle Buck Lighthouse. The afternoon is at leisure to explore more of the city.         

Day 3 Colombo                      
After some time to relax, head out late afternoon to meet your knowledgeable guide for a fascinating foodie walking tour. Visit a number of eateries to sample some of the flavours of Sri Lanka from authentic traditional cuisine to more modern fusion dishes.      

Day 4 Colombo to Galle                                      
Depart Colombo by train and travel down the west coast to Galle. From pretty much start to end, the railway line hugs the island's Indian Ocean coastline, affording you fabulous ocean views on your journey south. On arrival transfer to your hotel in atmospheric Galle Fort.          

Day 5 Galle                          
Spend the morning visiting a tea plantation situated just outside Galle which is famous for its unique white tea. Later take a shared walking tour of Galle Fort with a local resident to see its beautiful colonial buildings and learn about its history.    

Day 6 Galle                                
Today head out to the surrounding countryside and discover the ingredients and techniques of Sri Lankan cuisine. Learn to cook some delicious local dishes which you then enjoy for lunch. The rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 7 Galle to Colombo              
Return to Colombo and transfer to the airport.
