Days 1-2  Negombo  
Arrive in Colombo and transfer to your hotel in nearby Negombo for a night to relax on the beach or explore the surroundings before beginning your tour. The following day, get to know your group with a welcome meeting followed by dinner.

Day 3  Negombo to Dambulla  
Travel inland towards Dambulla. On the way, stop at the Ridi Vihara shrine - a cave temple filled with Buddha statues dating back to the second century BC. Share lunch at a local restaurant before travelling to Dambulla, enjoying the rest of the day here at leisure.

Day 4  Dambulla    
This morning, hike to Sigiriya (Lion Rock). One of Sri Lanka's most famous sights, this dramatic rocky outcrop is topped by a ruined palace. In the afternoon visit the village of Muriya Kadawala, where you’ll learn about traditional Sri Lankan pottery techniques and sample a local herbal drink.

Day 5  Dambulla  
After breakfast, head to Polonnaruwa and discover well-preserved temples, tombs and stupas in the ancient Quadrangle complex. This afternoon, head to Minneriya National Park to see Sri Lankan elephants in the wild.

Day 6  Dambulla to Kandy  
Today, travel to Kandy. Along the way, visit a local spice garden in Matale and learn about the spices that have played an important role in Sri Lanka’s cultural heritage. Upon arrival in Kandy, take a guided tour of the city, stopping to admire the Temple of the Sacred Tooth.

Day 7  Kandy  
Visit Ambagasthenna village, where a local tea plantation owner will guide you around the neighbourhood. For lunch, feast on a delicious home-cooked meal. Learn about the cultivation process at the tea plantation and taste a cup yourself.

Day 8  Kandy to Nuwara Eliya  
Depart Kandy and board a train headed deep into tea plantation country to Nuwara Eliya. Upon arrival take an orientation walk, wandering the peaceful shores of Gregory Lake. After, enjoy a high tea at your lovely hotel, with pots of Ceylon black, green or spiced tea, plus finger sandwiches and sweet treats.

Day 9  Nuwara Eliya to Colombo  
Journey to Sri Lanka’s coastal capital, Colombo, stopping at a tea factory for lunch along the way. After arriving in Colombo, take an orientation walk, seeing Sri Lanka’s old parliament building and the National Museum. Tonight, share a farewell dinner with your group.

Day 10  Colombo to Maldives    
Head to the airport and fly to the beautiful Maldives. Upon arrival, transfer to your resort and settle into your lovely surroundings.

Days 11-14  Maldives    
Spend your days soaking up the sun in this tropical paradise. Walk along powdery, white sand beaches, swim in the crystal clear lagoons and lounge around the resort. Known for its diverse marine life and wonderful coral reefs, perhaps explore more of the Maldives' underwater delights by snorkelling and enjoying the multitude of watersports available from your resort.

Day 15  Maldives    
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
