Itinerary
Leave the beaches and resorts of Mauritius behind and board your 45 minute flight to the spectacular island of Réunion. On arrival you will be escorted by private car to the charming LUX* Saint Gilles.
Day 2 Helicopters & Cirques
Transfer early morning to the heliport for the flight of a lifetime. Prepare to be stunned on this 45 minute helicopter flight over the island’s breathtaking pitons, cirques (ancient volcanic valleys) and waterfalls, some inaccessible by land. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure.
Day 3 Volcano & Villages
After an early breakfast, depart by 4WD to the dramatic Piton de la Fournaise, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. En route, there are numerous viewpoints including the cattle breeding area of Plaine des Cafres and the stunning panoramas of Nez de Boeuf: a huge canyon on the Rivière des Remparts caused by the collapse of the volcano’s summit. Continue your journey across beautiful landscapes and stop for an authentic lunch at a local guest house in a Creole village. Finish the day passing turmeric fields, an essential ingredient in all Réunion cuisine.
Day 4 Réunion to Mauritius
After a leisurely breakfast, make your way back to the airport for the short flight back to Mauritius.
