Journey through New Zealand with French Polynesia

Days 1-2  Fly to Christchurch, New Zealand

Days 3-4  Christchurch  
Upon arrival, make your way to your hotel before exploring this revitalised and arty city known for its fantastic culinary scene.

Day 5  TranzAlpine  
Train Rise early to board the TranzAlpine train to Greymouth. This iconic journey is one of the most picturesque rail routes in the world, passing remarkable mountain scenery via Arthur’s Pass. Arrive at lunchtime and pick up your car before continuing the scenic drive to Franz Josef.

Day 6  Franz Josef  
This picturesque village is surrounded by rainforest and sits close to the base of the stunning Franz Josef Glacier. Opt to take to the skies by helicopter and experience an exhilarating hike across the ice.

Days 7-8  Franz Josef to Wânaka  
Today, drive down the breathtaking west coast to Wânaka. During your time here, perhaps kayak on the crystal clear lake and peruse the lakeside cafés.

Days 9-10  Wânaka to Te Anau  
Journey to Te Anau, the gateway to the spectacular Fiordland National Park.  The following day, join a tour to cruise through the dramatic scenery of Milford Sound, taking in cascading waterfalls and soaring peaks.

Days 11-12  Te Anau to Queenstown  
Drive to the adventure capital of New Zealand, Queenstown. Set against a magnificent mountain backdrop, enjoy time at leisure to tread the many hiking trails or perhaps take a ride on the Skyline Gondola to the top of Bob’s Peak for views over The Remarkables mountains.

Days 13-14  Queenstown to Twizel  
Set off to the town of Twizel, surrounded by mountains and lakes, this spot is the perfect base for exploring the Mckenzie Region, including Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park and Lake Pukaki.

Day 15  Twizel to Rotorua  
Head to Christchurch and drop off your car in time for your flight to Rotorua.  Upon arrival, pick up another car.

Day 16  Rotorua  
Spend today exploring the geothermal wonderland of geysers, steaming hot springs and bubbling mud pools.

Days 17-18  Rotorua to Auckland  
Take a detour on your way to Auckland with a visit to the Hobbiton movie set. Explore the lush shire, wander past the colourful Hobbit Hole doors and have a drink at the Green Dragon Inn. On arrival in Auckland, drop off your car. The following day is at leisure for you to explore this cosmopolitan hub, perhaps visit the picturesque suburb of Ponsonby and the Auckland Harbour Bridge.

Day 19  Auckland to Tahiti, French Polynesia  
Make your way to the airport and fly to the beautiful island of Tahiti, the largest island in French Polynesia. Upon arrival at Papeete airport transfer to your hotel.

Days 20-23  Tahiti  
Spend the next few days unwinding on the iconic black sand beaches, taking in the stunning views over the azure waves towards the volcanic island of Moorea and enjoying the facilities at your hotel.

Days 24-25  Transfer to Papeete airport and fly home
