Itinerary

Days 1-2  Fly to New Zealand  

Days 3-4  Auckland  
Arrive in Auckland and discover this lovely harbourside city over two days. Perhaps take a sailing trip or the short ferry to picturesque Waiheke Island.            

Day 5  Auckland to Waitomo        
Collect your motorhome and travel to Waitomo to visit the glowworm caves, a fascinating warren of stalactites and stalagmites.          

Days 6-7  Waitomo to Tongariro NP    
Continue south to the volcanic lands of Tongariro National Park. This remarkable region is home to three volcanic mountains and makes for a marvellous spectacle. Embark on an evening guided walk to take in the sunset views and learn more about volcanology from the expert guide.          

Day 8  Tongariro NP to Hawke’s Bay          
Set off early to the renowned wine region of Hawke’s Bay to relax in stunning surroundings and sip New Zealand’s finest wines. Be sure to visit some of the local vineyards to sample the delicacies, or perhaps book onto an organised wine tasting tour.

Day 9  Hawke’s Bay to Lake Taupo            
Head inland to beautiful Lake Taupo and discover the surrounding mountains and forests. Explore Taupo town and the nearby Kinloch, the small village with a big view.            

Day 10  Lake Taupo            
Adventure seekers will love the rush of a thrilling high-speed jet boat ride at Huka Falls this morning. In the afternoon, relax lakeside and witness local fishermen in search of their daily catch or take one of the many walking trails.        

Days 11-12  Lake Taupo to Rotorua          
Travel to the geothermal wonderland of Rotorua. Set amidst crystal clear lakes, you’ll find bubbling mud pools, spouting geysers and natural geothermal mineral pools as well as the fascinating Maori village Te Pa Tu.          

Day 13  Rotorua to Bay of Plenty        
Drive to the beautiful Bay of Plenty, with endless miles of white sand, surfing beaches and a great climate. Enjoy the beaches in the afternoon or stretch your legs on a bush walk along one of the many tracks and trails.  

Day 14  Bay of Plenty to the Coromandel Peninsula  
After a relaxing morning, drive north to the spectacular Coromandel Peninsula.  

Day 15  The Coromandel Peninsula          
Discover this pristine region of New Zealand. Perhaps head to Hot Water Beach and the stunning Cathedral Cove.    

Days 16-17  The Coromandel Peninsula to Auckland          
Enjoy the leisurely drive back to Auckland and drop off your motorhome before your flight home.
