Colours of Colombia from Dublin

Days 1-2  Bogotá
Fly to Colombia’s lively capital city and transfer to your hotel. The next day, enjoy a half day city tour, visit La Candelaria, Bogotá’s historic quarter, before learning about Colombia’s history in the museums. Take the cable car up Monserrate Hill for spectacular views over the city.

Day 3  Bogotá to the Coffee Region
Venture north to Zipaquirá to see the impressive underground cathedral carved into an old salt mine. Return to Bogotá and fly to Pereira in the Coffee Region.

Day 4  Coffee Region
Admire the beautiful scenery as you discover how Colombian coffee is produced with a visit to a local coffee plantation.

Day 5  Coffee Region
Journey to the Cocora Valley and walk through the cloud forest, marvelling at the huge wax palms and birdlife. In the afternoon, visit the town of Salento and wander its cobblestone streets lined with colourful houses and make a stop at the Cocora viewpoint for breathtaking panoramas. Finally, soak up the atmosphere in the traditional village of Filandia before returning to your hotel.

Day 6  Coffee Region to Medellín
Travel by road to cosmopolitan Medellín and take a tour to learn about the city’s incredible transformation since the death of Pablo Escobar. Travel via the cable cars and escalators of the once infamous Comuna 13 and admire the city street art.

Day 7  Guatapé
Today you will visit picturesque Guatapé. Stop at the enormous El Peñól rock, where you can choose to climb the 654 steps for spectacular views at the top (payable locally). Explore the cobbled streets lined with quaint pastel coloured houses in the lakeside village before a visit to the Guatapé reservoir.

Day 8  Medellín to Tayrona NP
Fly to Santa Marta and continue by road to the awe-inspiring Tayrona National Park. Filandia Cocora Valley Salento.

Day 9  Tayrona NP
Enjoy a day exploring the national park with your local guide. Walk along the network of trails to discover rugged beaches and dense jungle. Look out for wildlife including monkeys, caiman and an exceptional variety of colourful birds.

Day 10  Tayrona NP to Cartagena
Continue to Cartagena with a scenic drive along the picturesque Caribbean coast.

Day 11  Cartagena
Explore the city with a tour including a visit to the San Felipe Fortress, built by the Spanish to defend the city from pirate attacks.

Day 12  Cartagena
Enjoy a day at leisure to soak up the romantic atmosphere of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Days 13-14  Fly home
