Grand Tour of South America

Day 1  Fly to Bogotá, Colombia  

Days 2-7  Colombia  
Kick off your epic adventure with the welcoming charm of Colombia. Visit the fantastic capital city of Bogotá, where you can learn about the country’s fascinating history, before travelling to dynamic Medellín, a thriving cultural hub. Climb the 654 stairs winding up to El Peñón rock and visit the lakeside village of Guatapé. Fly to Cartagena and soak up the enchanting character of this wonderful city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site which is set on the lovely Caribbean coast.  

Days 8-13  Ecuador & the Galápagos Islands
Fly from Cartagena to Quito, meet your tour groupand explore the cobbled streets of the old town. The next day, board a plane to the Galápagos Islands and embark on your cruise ship, Eden. Inhabited by some of the world’s most diverse and fascinating wildlife, spot unique birds including blue-footed and red-footed boobies, snorkel alongside sea lions and visit magnificent giant tortoises. Disembark Eden and fly back to Quito.  

Days 14-21  Peru  
Take a flight to historic Cusco to join your next tour group. Follow in the footsteps of the Incas travelling through the Sacred Valley and the hot spring town of Aguas Calientes to magical Machu Picchu, undoubtedly the jewel in Peru’s glistening crown. After touring the ruins, return by road and rail to Cusco. Spend two days here exploring the city further before venturing on to the Amazon rainforest. Stay in a remote jungle lodge to discover exceptional biodiversity on a range of activities run by expert naturalist guides. From here, take a flight to the cosmopolitan city of Lima.  

Days 22-41  Argentina & Chile  
Depart Peru with a flight to Argentina's capital, Buenos Aires, and explore its lively food scene and exciting tango shows. Travel south and take in the jaw-dropping Perito Moreno Glacier, before you cross into Torres del Paine National Park. Heading north, enjoy walking trails through green forests in the beautiful Lake District and wine tastings at the fabulous vineyards which surround Mendoza. Fly to world-famous Iguazú Falls, which sits on the border of Argentina and Brazil. With 275 individual waterfalls set in a magnificent jungle setting, be amazed by the drama and beauty of this awesome wonder as you witness the power of the falls from a variety of viewpoints.  

Days 42-47  Brazil  
The final border crossing of your extraordinary journey takes you to the Brazilian side of the falls for panoramic vistas before flying to Rio de Janeiro. Visit the sights of this iconic city including Sugarloaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer. After a few days exploring Rio, transfer along the picturesque coastline to the charming seaside town of Búzios. Enjoy a relaxing end to your fantastic adventure as your wander along the waterfront and unwind on one of the many nearby beaches, from sweeping golden sands to hidden bays with aquamarine lagoons.  

Days 48-49  Transfer to Rio de Janeiro and fly home
