Itinerary
Day 1 Bogotá to San Agustín
Fly to Pitalito, where you will be met on arrival for the drive to your hotel in San Agustín. The lush hills which surround the town are scattered with hundreds of imposing statues intricately carved from volcanic stone. Little is known about this enigmatic region or its past inhabitants.
Day 2 San Agustín
This morning visit the San Agustín Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site home to impressive stone statues, funerary complexes and tombs. Marvel at the enormous yet intricate monuments which demonstrate the imagination and creativity of the culture which flourished here from the 1st to 8th Centuries.
Day 3 San Agustín to Bogotá
Transfer back to Pitalito airport for your flight to Bogotá. If you have more time why not extend your stay and discover the surreal landscapes of the Tatacoa Desert or the incredible Salto del Mortiño waterfall? Please ask your travel consultant for more details.
