Wild Colombia

Day 1 Bogotá      
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.      
                 
Day 2 Bogotá      
Set out on a guided day tour to discover Bogotá. Marvel at the impressive Salt Cathedral at Zipaquirá, a huge underground cathedral carved into the tunnels of an old salt mine. Wander through historic La Candelaria and visit the main square before continuing to popular Botero museum.      
         
Day 3 Bogotá to the Amazon Rainforest      
Fly to Leticia. Upon arrival, travel by road and boat to your charming Amazon lodge, stopping at a local market en route.  

Days 4-5 Amazon Rainforest      
Spend the next two days in the heart of this remarkable ecosystem. Meander through waterways with expert naturalist guides on the lookout for wildlife including sloths, monkeys, river dolphins and an array of birds.  

Day 6 Amazon Rainforest to Bogotá      
Leave the rainforest behind and fly to Bogotá for a final night in this vibrant city.  
             
Day 7 Bogotá to Los Llanos        
Swap the city for wide open plains and fly to Yopal. Upon arrival, drive to your lodge set on the banks of the Cravo Sur River, surrounded by a grassland wilderness, home to an abundance of wildlife including capybaras, anacondas, pumas and giant anteaters.      

Days 8-9 Los Llanos      
Over two days experience the magic of these vast plains on a variety of excursions (payable locally), including nature walks, bongo (canoe) trips and horse riding to spot some of the incredible fauna that call this area home.      

Day 10 Los Llanos to Medellín        
Journey back to Yopal airport and fly to Medellín. The rest of the day is at leisure.    
       
Day 11 Guatapé            
Enjoy a scenic drive to the lakeside village of Guatapé, where you can opt to climb the imposing El Peñól rock (payable locally) for striking views before returning to Medellín for the night.

Day 12 Medellín to Cartagena    
Fly to Cartagena and transfer to your hotel.      

Day 13 Cartagena                
This morning visit the National Aviary of Colombia to witness the extraordinary variety of birds found across the country before exploring this captivating city on a guided tour.

Day 14 Cartagena to Palomino          
Drive along the picturesque Caribbean coast to charming Palomino.      

Day 15 Tayrona National Park            
Sure to be a highlight, discover this unspoilt paradise on a guided walk through the forest. Marvel at the diverse wildlife on the way to the beautiful beaches.      

Day 16 Palomino            
Today is free for you to enjoy at leisure. Discover the quaint town and its attractive surrounds, indulge in a pampering spa treatment or simply relax by the beach.

Day 17 Palomino            
Transfer to Santa Marta airport for your onward travel arrangements.
