A Journey Through Guatemala, Belize and Mexico

Day 1  Antigua, Guatemala                                      
Upon arrival in Guatemala City transfer to your hotel in the colonial city of Antigua.                                      

Day 2  Antigua            
Explore the highlights of Antigua on a walking tour. The afternoon is at leisure for you to discover more of this charming city.                                      

Day 3  Antigua to Lake Atitlán        
Drive to stunning Lake Atitlán in the shadow of three towering volcanoes. Stop en-route at the highland town of Chichicastenango where you can haggle for handicrafts and multi-coloured textiles on market days (Sundays and Thursdays).                                  

Day 4  Lake Atitlán                  
Enjoy a tour of this picturesque lake and visit the villages of San Juan La Laguna and Santiago Atitlán to experience the culture of the indigenous communities.            

Day 5  Lake Atitlán to El Petén        
Return to Guatemala City. Fly to Flores and transfer to your hotel in El Petén.    

Day 6  Tikal                    
Discover the magic and mystery of the Mayan world with an excursion to the impressive site of Tikal. Explore the huge temples which tower above the jungle on a fascinating guided tour.          

Day 7  El Petén to Ambergris Caye, Belize        
This morning transfer by road across the border to Belize and continue to Belize City for your flight to Ambergris Caye. On arrival transfer to your hotel.    

Days 8-9  Ambergris Caye                    
Spend two days settling into island life. Relax on a spectacular beach or snorkel in the crystal clear sea.    

Day 10  Ambergris Caye to Chichén Itzá, Mexico
Transfer to the airport and fly to Cancun via Belize City. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel in Chichén Itzá.          

Day 11  Chichén Itzá to Mérida        
Enjoy a morning tour of this magnificent archaeological site, set in the dense Mexican rainforest. Later, transfer to Mérida. Wander through the colourful streets of this charming colonial city.                          

Day 12  Uxmal & Kabah                      
Travel south from Mérida to explore UNESCO World Heritage listed Uxmal, one of the most important sites of Mayan culture. Also visit Kabah with its amazing Palace of the Masks. Return to Mérida late afternoon.                                    

Day 13  Celestún Biosphere            
Drive to the Celestún Biosphere famed as one of the largest breeding grounds of pink flamingos. Take a boat ride observing flamingo colonies and many other species of bird. Later transfer back to Mérida stopping at a cenote en route.                                      

Day 14  Mérida to Cancun or Riviera Maya                        
Transfer to Cancun airport or head to the Riviera Maya for a relaxing beach break.
