Copan Extension

Day 1  Antigua, Guatemala to Copán, Honduras                          
Depart in the morning by road and transfer across the border into Honduras before arriving into the pretty town of Copán Ruinas. Wander through the town’s cobblestone streets, white adobe buildings and peaceful plazas at your leisure.

Day 2  Copán            
This morning explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Copán, which is famed for its intricate carvings. Built between 400 and 800AD little is known about the history of this lost city. Visit the sculpture museum and two excavated tunnels, both providing a unique insight into the early stages of the Copán civilisation. The ruins are shrouded in jugle so look out for toucans and other colourful birds in the foliage.

Day 3  Copán to Livingston, Guatemala                    
Cross back into Guatemala and continue by road to Puerto Barrios stopping en route at the Mayan site of Quiraguá. On arrival at Puerto Barrios transfer by boat to the charismatic town of Livingston. Distinctly different from the rest of Guatemala, experience the culture and rhythms of this colourful city.

Day 4  Livingston              
Depart Livingston for your onward journey.
