Itinerary
This morning, transfer to Kinabalu National Park. With its stunning landscapes, scenic walking trails and exotic tropical gardens, Kinabalu National Park covers a vast area and offers a host of natural attractions. It is also the starting point for climbing Mount Kinabalu where you embark on an 8km ascent over two days. Today, relax at leisure and settle into your lodge within the national park.
Day 2 Kinabalu NP
Meet your mountain guide at the Park HQ before proceeding to the summit trail (1,829m). Climb up through the tropical and sub alpine forests to Laban Rata lodge (3,353m), arriving at approx 3pm where you can then relax for the rest of the day soaking up the glorious views.
Day 3 Kinabalu NP to Kota Kinabalu
Depart in the early hours (approx 1.30am) and commence the ascent to the summit (4,095m) with your path lit only by torchlight. Once you arrive at the top, catch your breath and enjoy watching the sun rise from one of the highest peaks in South East Asia. Return to Laban Rata Guesthouse for breakfast and descend back to the Park HQ before returning to Kota Kinabalu, arriving late afternoon.
