Journey through Indonesia's Java & Bali

Days 1-2  Borobudur  
Fly to Yogyakarta and take a transfer to your hotel near Borobudur. An early start the next day rewards you with a sunrise followed by a guided tour of the monument before the crowds arrive. Return to your hotel for breakfast before visiting some nearby temples and enjoying a ride on a horse-drawn carriage along the peaceful lanes to a nearby village.

Day 3  Borobudur to Ambarawa    
Depart early for the drive to Wonosobo, gateway to the volcanic Dieng Plateau. This upland plain is known for its beautiful scenery and ancient Hindu shrines. Take a walk through the volcanic landscapes before continuing on to the market town of Ambarawa.

Days 4-5  Ambarawa to Yogyakarta  
Visit a group of small Hindu temples on the slopes of Mount Ungaran before a moderate walk to the mountaintop for enchanting views of the surrounding volcanoes. Visit the Sultan’s Palace and the Taman Sari, once a royal water garden, before a short cyclo-pedicab ride to the Sonobudoyo Museum. This afternoon visit the majestic Hindu temples at Prambanan.

Day 6  Yogyakarta to Mount Bromo  
Depart early this morning for the rail journey to Jombang. Continue by road to the village of Ngadisari, the gateway to Mount Bromo.

Days 7-8  Mount Bromo to Ijen Plateau  
Rise at 3.30am and travel by jeep to a viewpoint where you will witness one of the most spectacular sights in South East Asia ‐ the sun rising over Mount Bromo. Continue through the lunar-like landscape to the volcano’s caldera. The following day, travel to Paltuding and embark on a moderate 90 minute uphill trek to the remarkable Ijen Crater. From the top, enjoy striking views of the crater lake’s glistening turquoise waters and the surrounding beautiful landscape.

Day 9  Ijen Plateau to Ubud  
Journey to Kaliklatak Plantation to learn about rubber tapping and coffee production. Continue to Ketapang for the ferry to Bali, and transfer by road to arrive at the beautiful 4★+ The Ubud Village Resort & Spa.

Days 10-11  Ubud  
Spend a couple of days unwinding amongst picturesque rice paddies. Wander into the centre of Ubud and visit attractions including the Monkey Forest, where you can get up close to Balinese long-tailed macaques.

Day 12  Ubud to Bali  
Transfer to the coast for your final few days staying at the stunning 5★ The Oberoi Beach Resort.

Days 13-15  Bali  
Experience ultimate serenity in this beachside paradise. Spend time relaxing by the pool, rejuvenating your senses with revitalising treatments at the spa, or taking the short stroll to the centre of Seminyak to explore the shops, restaurants and bars. Visit the beach in the evening in time for a spectacular sunset over the sea.

Day 16  Bali  
Transfer to the airport for your flight home.
