Departing from Thailand’s Golden Triangle, this leisurely two day cruise on board a traditional river barge provides a truly memorable introduction to Laos.

Day 1 Chiang Rai, Thailand to Pakbeng, Laos
Depart Chiang Rai early this morning and travel by road to the border crossing. After completing border formalities, transfer to Huay Xai where you will board the traditional Shompoo boat. Cruise gently through the lush green countryside and past remote hill tribe villages whilst enjoying a delicious lunch on board. Later this afternoon, disembark at the riverside village of Pakbeng and check into your lodge. In the evening sip a cocktail whilst watching the sun set over picturesque surroundings.
Day 2 Pakbeng to Luang Prabang
Head to the morning market or enjoy the tranquil surroundings of your lodge. Board the boat and continue your journey to the Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha statues. After, stop at a riverside village before reaching charming Luang Prabang.
