Hanoi, Halong Bay & Beyond

Day 1  Hanoi            
Upon arrival transfer to your hotel.            

Day 2  Hanoi            
Explore vibrant Hanoi with a city tour and hear tales of the city’s turbulent history. Begin your morning at the Temple of Literature before visiting one of Hanoi’s fascinating museums. In the afternoon visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum before a walking tour of the charming Old Quarter.            

Day 3  Hanoi to Mai Chau      
A morning drive through verdant valleys and over mountain passes will bring you to Mai Chau, nestled within a valley of forested hills, vivid rice paddies and picturesque limestone karst formations. This afternoon take a walk through lush fields and local villages to enjoy this beautiful region.            

Day 4  Mai Chau    
After breakfast drive to Mai Hich for a unique insight into Vietnam’s diverse cultures including the local traditions and lifestyle of a tribal community. Spend 1-3 hours taking a leisurely hike through rural villages and spectacular scenery. Return to your hotel and spend an afternoon at leisure relaxing in the idyllic surroundings.            

Day 5  Mai Chau to Ninh Binh    
Drive to the compelling region of Ninh Binh known as the ‘Halong Bay of the Land’ due to its towering limestone hills rising majestically above the rice fields and farmlands. Take a sampan (small wooden boat) and float along narrow canals fringed by paddy fields into mysterious caves. Later, hop on a bike and cycle through the villages and varied landscape of this scenic countryside.            

Day 6  Ninh Binh to Halong Bay      
Travel through the Red River Delta and board your overnight cruise in stunning Halong Bay. Spend time relaxing on deck or choose from an array of activities including swimming in peaceful bays, visiting hidden beaches, or exploring one of the caves found on the islands.  

Day 7  Halong Bay to Hanoi            
After a final morning excursion disembark and transfer to Hanoi.
