Louisiana - New Orleans, Cajuns & Plantations

Day 1-3  New Orleans        
The jazz capital of the world offers a vibrant atmosphere and unique charm. Enjoy the charisma of the French Quarter and ride the street cars of the Garden District.            

Day 4  New Orleans to Lafayette    
Pick up your car and head to welcoming Lafayette in the heart of Cajun Country, perhaps stopping off to take a bayou swamp tour or visit Avery Island, home of Tabasco sauce.            

Day 5  Lafayette      
Explore Vermilionville Historic Village to learn about the history and culture of the Cajuns. Dine on fresh crawfish or boudin sausage and then put on your dancing shoes for a night of infectious Cajun and zydeco live music.            

Day 6  Lafayette to St Francisville
Head north to St Francisville, a characterful town with plenty of historic antebellum homes. Tour the Myrtles Plantation, reputedly one of the most haunted houses in America!            

Day 7  St Francisville to Nottoway Plantation      
Drive along the Great River Road and route via the interesting state capital, Baton Rouge before arriving at the imposing Nottoway Plantation. Learn about the opulent lifestyles and turbulent history of the area’s past.            

Day 8  Nottoway Plantation to New Orleans      
The Great River Road hugs the Mississippi and takes you towards New Orleans for your flight home.
