Itinerary
Day 1 Minneapolis
Welcome to one half of Minnesota’s famous ‘Twin Cities’, enjoy its vibrant arts scene and scenic parks along the banks of beautiful Mississippi River.
Day 2 St Paul
Today visit the other half of this dynamic city, home to the impressive Beaux Arts Cathedral of Saint Paul. Learn about the state’s past from the excellent interactive exhibits at the Minnesota History Center.
Day 3 Minneapolis to Fargo
Drive to North Dakota and arrive in Fargo, a town made famous by the Cohen Brothers film of the same name. Explore its eclectic local art scene with galleries, museums and outdoor murals around every corner.
Day 4 Moorhead
Uncover this landlocked city’s fascinating Viking past at the Hjemkomst Center. After, head back and enjoy your evening at one of the inviting pubs and bars Fargo has to offer.
Day 5 Fargo to Bismarck
Continue on your journey the state’s capital and discover insights into local history at the North Dakota Heritage Center and explore the attractive grounds of the State Capitol.
Day 6 Bismarck to Medora
Venture to the charming town of Medora, the gateway to Theodore Roosevelt National Park. If there during the summer why not experience an evening of outdoor music at the Medora Musical, held at the Burning Hills Amphitheater.
Day 7 Theodore Roosevelt NP
Take the day to explore the lesser known but truly spectacular Theodore Roosevelt National Park where the Great Plains meet the rugged Badlands. Enjoy scenic hikes and wildlife spotting along its many trails overlooking the delightful Little Missouri River.
Day 8 Medora to Deadwood
Welcome to the historic Wild West town of Deadwood, South Dakota. Where many descended with the lure of making their fortune in the goldrush era. Maybe on route make a detour to see the geological marvel Devil’s Tower Monument.
Day 9 Deadwood
Why not retrace the footsteps of some of the town’s most infamous inhabitants, Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Wander down the well-preserved Main Street and be enthralled watching one of the free daily Wild West re-enactments!
Day 10 Deadwood to Rapid City
A short drive through the picturesque Black Hills National Forest takes you to Rapid City which has amazing access to the incredible Badlands National Park, renowned Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse Memorial.
Day 11 Rapid City
Spend the day visiting the 60ft heads of four of America's most influential presidents at Mount Rushmore and exploring striking landscape of Custer State Park.
Day 12 Rapid City to Chamberlain
Today drive via the impressive Badlands National Park to the quaint town of Chamberlain on the Missouri River, where you can learn about Native American history at the Akta Lakota Museum.
Day 13 Chamberlain to Sioux Falls
Next stop is Sioux Falls, South Dakota’s largest city. Visit Falls Park for waterfalls, incredible scenery, cycling and hiking trails. In the evening stroll around the lively downtown and savour a bite to eat at one of its many food trucks.
Day 14 Sioux Falls to Minneapolis
Before driving on to Minneapolis head out to the Sculpture Walk, one of the largest outdoor exhibits of public sculpture in the world.
Day 15 Minneapolis
One last morning in Minneapolis for your final day. Visit the Mall of America or enjoy a lakeside walk before heading out to the airport.
